WHAT WE ARE ALL ABOUT

Bringing Virginians Together to Build a Better Future.

OUR MISSION

As we move into the future, we want to bring Virginians of different regions, backgrounds, life experiences, and political points of view together to solve problems and build a better Virginia. We need new ideas and approaches that are grounded in common sense, not ideological theories. Most importantly, we want to work with anyone who is willing to work with us to solve problems. That is the key to effective leadership and getting things done.

SENATOR EMMETT HANGER

Named as one of the 10 most productive legislators in America by FiscalNote in 2018, Emmett has demonstrated effective and experienced leadership throughout his legislative career, serving in both the House of Delegates and State Senate.  As Co-Chair of the Senate Finance Committee, he was recognized as the Most Effective Legislator in Virginia in 2017 and 2018.

Emmett has been recognized by numerous groups for his work on bipartisan redistricting, economic development, health reforms, conservation and land preservation, education, mental health and disabilities, and public safety.  Within the past 3 years, he has received more than 25 awards, including being named Legislator of the Year by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Virginia State Police Association, and the Virginia Education Association.

Most recently, Emmett was recognized by Unite Virginia for his leadership in bipartisan redistricting reform and received the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Free Enterprise Award.

Emmett created Virginians for a Better Tomorrow (VABT) as a way to bring people together to solve problems. Our first project is to raise money and organize Virginians to pass the Bipartisan Redistricting Constitutional Amendment, which will be on the ballot this November. We are asking every Virginian to support this project, whether they are Republican, Democrat, or Independent.

“Nothing gets done when people shout political slogans at each other. Effective leadership is when we bring people together, use our common sense, and solve problems. That is what I’ve done in the past and what I want to do for our future.”
